Welcome to the Maxim Hotel booking website. Please take a moment to read and agree to our terms and conditions, as they govern your use of the site and any bookings made through our online system.
By making a reservation, you acknowledge and accept that all bookings with Maxim Hotel are subject to these terms. The Maxim Hotel reserves the right to change, modify, add or remove sections of this website and these terms and conditions at any time without notice or liability. If you are a regular user of our online booking application, we recommend that you check this website and these terms and conditions regularly, as it is not the responsibility of the Maxim Hotel to inform you of any changes. Any future reservations you make will be subject to the terms and conditions which apply at the time of booking.
All rate plans with a flexible cancellation policy do not require payment upfront* (unless otherwise stated in the rate plan conditions). 100% of the total reservation amount will be charged by the hotel at check-in or on check-out depending on the hotel’s individual policy. Applicable hotel payment terms will be detailed at the time of booking and in the booking confirmation email.
For all rate plans that are non-refundable (e.g. Advance Purchase, special sale or promotional rates) 100% of the total reservation amount will be charged within 24 hours from the booking being made.
A 2.0% surcharge fee applies for all payments made by credit card at the hotel. Guests can avoid this fee by paying with Debit Card or Cash at the hotel.
Note when paying by any other payment method than Credit Card, the hotel will require either a virtual copy of a credit card or a as security ( Cash deposit may be acceptable at selected hotels, please refer to the hotel’s individual policy when booking).
All reservations require a credit card guarantee at the time of booking. The final amount shown to you for payment will be shown in New Zealand Dollars. This will be the amount charged to your credit card or converted to your local currency by your credit card company when payment is due. Maxim Hotel is not responsible for currency conversion and therefore any questions regarding currency conversion must be directed to your credit card company. In the event where the customer’s overdue account is referred to a collection agency and/or law firm, the customer will be liable for all costs which would be incurred as if the debt is collected in full, including commission on collection of the additional costs and including legal demand costs.
A $100.00 per night bond, up to a maximum of 3 nights, is also required acting as security for any incidental expenses incurred during your stay. This bond will be required at check-in. Any balance of the security bond will be released after checkout (please note that this may take a few days to reflect on your bank statement). Cash payments will be allowed for Hotel charges and services.

If a guaranteed booking is not cancelled at least 24 hours before the arrival date and remains unused, a one-night accommodation charge will apply.

Credit card refunds must be processed back onto the original credit card.
You agree that you will pay us the room rate for each day of your stay and any additional charges up until the time you advise us that you have departed from our hotel. All prices are quoted in New Zealand dollars (unless otherwise specified) per room per night and are inclusive of GST.
Prices are subject to availability and can change without notification due to fluctuations in charges and currency. Blackout/special event periods may apply. The “from” rates displayed on the website are indicative rates only, are subject to availability & terms and conditions apply. Please select dates and check availability to get the most up to date pricing. Each rate or hotel package available via The Maxim Hotel website is subject to individual terms and conditions.
If your requested room is unavailable, you are given the option to ‘Waitlist’ the room. Waitlisted reservations are not guaranteed and are not charged. If the room(s) you have waitlisted become available before the check-in date, you may be contacted to see if you would like to complete your reservation. In this case, more guests may be contacted than there are rooms available and so reservations will be accepted on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
All reservations require a valid credit card guarantee at the time of booking. A pre-authorization check (with a $1 charge) will be performed at the time of booking to verify that the supplied credit card is valid. The pre-authorization charge will be reversed shortly afterwards but may take up to 5 business days to clear. The guarantee ensures that your reservation will be held from 2pm on the day of arrival until 10am the following morning.
The Maxim Hotel retains the right to cancel or relocate bookings without notice.
New Zealand Goods and Services Tax (GST) is included in all amounts shown and charged to your credit card. The Maxim Hotel is required by New Zealand law to charge GST on all goods sold or used within New Zealand. The GST rate is 15%.
By using this website and paying for your reservation by credit card you represent and warrant that you are a minimum of 18 years of age to use this site and create legal binding obligations for any liability incurred. You agree that you will be personally and financially responsible for the use of this website and for anyone you have supplied your login information to or who otherwise has access to or uses your login information.
The Maxim Hotel has established limits on the number of rooms that are able to be booked over the Internet on a single date at any one hotel which accepts reservations via this website. This limit is 4 rooms per hotel per booking date. Bookings of 5 or more rooms, or bookings made by Travel Agents, Wholesale Travel Agents and other third parties will automatically have a group payment and cancellation policy apply: Our Central Reservations team will contact the guest via phone or email to advise of the reservation change to group policy.
All rooms are sold on a twin-share basis unless otherwise stated. There will be extra charges applicable if the number of adults in the room exceeds two. Up to two children stay for free provided they are 12 years of age or under and are using existing bedding in the room. Cots are available free of charge for children under two years of age – please contact the hotel to confirm availability. Unless otherwise stated charges are for accommodation only and all other charges (such as for food and beverages and other hotel services) will be paid at the completion of your stay at the Maxim Hotel.
Whilst care is taken to ensure that the description of our facilities and services is accurate, these are continually being changed, upgraded, and on occasion taken out of service. If any feature or facility is essential to you in choosing a particular property, it is your responsibility to confirm with the property prior to making your reservation that the feature or facility will be available during your stay. To the extent permitted by law, The Maxim Hotel is not liable for omissions, errors or changes to the facilities and services at the property, whether temporary or permanent. Accommodation facilities listed may not apply to all room types.
The Maxim Hotel uses digital technology to screen all online reservations to identify those that may be fraudulent, and/or not made in good faith. A pre-authorization on the supplied credit card will be made and the guest will be contacted by our Central Reservations team to complete additional verification steps. If these measures are not completed to a satisfactory level the reservation(s) will be cancelled immediately, and the guests will be notified by email.
Check in is from 2pm New Zealand time on the day of arrival. The person registering at Check In must be a minimum of 18 years of age and at least one adult of 18 years or older staying in booked accommodation room(s).
Check out time is 10am New Zealand time on the day of departure.
Early check-in charge:
$50 is applicable for check-in times before 11am on arrival day, conditional upon the room being available.
Late check-out fee:
50% of 1 night’s accommodation is applicable between 10am and 2pm, after that full night’s accommodation charge applies, conditional upon the room being available.
When you check-in, you may be asked to provide photographic identification. If you are unable to provide such identification, your reservation may be cancelled, and you may be liable to pay us an amount equal to the full reservation amount plus any other costs incurred by us in connection with your reservation.
Any activity (including photography and videography) of a commercial or promotional nature is not permitted anywhere within the hotel without the prior written approval of hotel management and, in the case of photography / videography, without an authorised location acknowledgement. Hotel management has the right to cancel accommodation and require the immediate cessation of any activity taking place in breach of this condition. Unauthorized imagery or video must not be published on any media and must be immediately removed from the public domain upon request from hotel management If any photography, videography, or other media, whether captured personally or professionally, is deemed detrimental to our business brand or values, we reserve the right to request its removal, with an expectation of compliance within a 24-hour timeframe.
By using this website to make a reservation you consent to receive emails about your booking. This will include a Booking Confirmation email, pre-arrival emails and a post-stay email. The Maxim Hotel will not send you any promotional or marketing related information without your express consent ( which can be obtained at the time of booking by selecting the ‘subscribe to marketing material’, or at check-in directly with the hotel ). We will not sell or distribute any of these records to any third party, other than when you order goods or services from a third party provider.
Any reservation made on the the Maxim Hotel online booking website is made at your own risk. As you are entering information directly into the Hotel reservations system, all information entered by you will be assumed to be correct and final. Any errors or omissions will be the responsibility of the person entering any information into our online system. The Maxim Hotel will not be held responsible and accept any financial liability for any errors or omissions in the information provided.
The use of this website is at your own risk. The Maxim Hotel does not warrant that the website will operate error-free or that this website and its server are free of computer viruses or other harmful material. If you use this website and your equipment is in need of servicing or replacement or if you loose data or experience any problems, The Maxim Hotel will accept no responsibility or liability for any damage, losses and costs you may suffer or incur in any circumstances.
The Maxim Hotel, to the fullest extent permitted by law, expressly disclaims and excludes any and all liability to anyone using this website, making any reservation on this website or ordering any goods and/or services using this website. Without limiting the foregoing in any way, this exclusion of liability extends to any economic and consequential losses, any damages and costs, all claims involving personal injury and/or death and all loss, damage or destruction of property.
In relation to any goods or services offered by or ordered from third party providers, you should check with the relevant third-party provider to see whether any warranties are given and whether any exclusions or limitations apply. The Maxim Hotel does not act for or represent any third party providers and does not accept any liability in relation to any third party providers or for the goods and/or services that they offer or provide, including (but not by way of limitation) for any acts or omissions of third party providers or for any representations or misrepresentations made by them.

This Maxim Hotel website and various component parts, including these Booking Terms and Conditions are governed exclusively by the laws of New Zealand and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of New Zealand.
